These modular shelves were fabricated with recycled oak from old tabletops. The dark finish and copper elements complement the light atmosphere in the house, and creates a subtle focal point in the modern home.
At CZNSTUDIOS in Amsterdam we have detailed, fabricated and installed the interior and mirror cabinets. Design collaboration with Jordi van der Oord.
The open wall structures, combined with fluorescent light bars positioned behind the blue frames, delivers a dynamic effect as one moves through the space, or observes as a passerby from the busy Amsterdam street.
Concept Design: Jordi van der Oord
In this modern loft style-apartment, the living room and bedroom were initially separated by a solid wall. To create a greater sense of spaciousness and bring more natural light into the bedroom, we introduced a glass and metal partition with a curved corner and slim doors that open from floor to ceiling.
The design draws inspiration from 20th century Parisian café facades, featuring slim metal frames, and large curved glass panels. The steel is finished in a typical French soft green hue.
This orangery was designed and decorated for a rural family home in Normandy. To make it possible to enjoy the garden and sunlight year-round, we designed and built an orangery that allows natural light to flood the space.
The orangery features a modern slim steel frame and a lean-to glass roof. The wide doors, which open outward allow for natural ventilation during the summer months. The furnishing and decoration is inspired by vintage French charm and romantic cinema, with details that highlight bright colours of surrounding plants and flowers.
As a focal point in the garden, this space is ideal for big family dinners or a quiet retreat to read a book, enjoying the green surroundings.
In this apartment, several rooms had to be reconfigured to maximize space. To create distinct areas while maintaining the flow of natural light, we installed subtle steel room partitions with large sliding doors featuring fluted glass.
The fluted glass offers privacy in each room while allowing light to filter through, creating a dynamic, colorful effect. The sliding doors can be fully opened, enabling flexible use of space as needed.
This modular shelving system was developed in collaboration with our friend and interior designer, Jamie van Haasteren for Studio Jop van Bennekom.
We contributed the steel framework: light-grey, minimal components that frame the solid oak shelves. The design emphasizes airiness and lightness while complementing the industrial character of the office space.
